M-S-N-I project team presents a concept for a regional content integration project
A working group, consisting of four enterprises, two research facilities and several associated partners presented in april 2010 under the title MSNI Europe a concept for a sustainable infrastructure for the preparation and distribution of georeferenced content on mobile devices and submitted the concept as a project proposal to the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

MSNI Europe is a project for a sustainable promotion and support of the regional available provider of technology and content through research- and development-activities. These activities aim the supply of an intelligent, semantic acting integration-tool for the arrangement and distribution of regional, internationalized informations on mobile devices.

The nuclear innovation of the research activities base upon the explicit consideration of situational contexts depending on personal preferences as well as the factors time, location, intention and occasion. In relation with to be developed application-dedicated ontologies within the realms of the semantic web for different target markets (tourism, logistics, e-government, science) and the simultaneous assembly of compatible, open interfaces (intelligent web services) for the provision and utilisation of according content offers the opportunity to present economically sustainable and especially particularly business models in which the content of regional providers itself increases in value again.
Initiators of the concept include the "Fraunhofer-Institut für Software- und Systemtechnik ISST”, the "University of Applied Sciences Potsdam” (Department of interface-design), the foundation "Preussische Schlösser und Gärten” as well as the enterprises "idpraxis GmbH”, "3DRealitymaps”, "bsf-swissphotogroup” and "Gisgeo”.
